Summer days are made for getting outside and enjoying the beach with your furry friend, and what better time than this month for Walk Your Dog Month.

But figuring out which beaches are actually dog-friendly can be tricky, especially when some have different rules in summer vs winter! 


To make it easier, PetSafe Brands has rounded up the ultimate list of dog-friendly beaches in Australia along with a handy Dog Beach Day Safety & Etiquette Checklist, to help paw-rents plan weekends, holidays or even weekday adventures with their pups.

Victoria:

🐕 Beaumaris, Ricketts Point – Off-leash at all times, between Surf Avenue and Beaumaris Yacht club

🐕 Altona, Burns Reserve – Off-leash at all times


Queensland:

🐕 The Spit, Southport – On and off-leash areas, Seaworld Drive

🐕 Stumers Creek Dog Beach, Coolum – Off-leash

🐕 Manly Foreshore Dog Beach, Brisbane – Off-leash, between southern rock wall and northern rock wall


New South Wales:

🐕 Kurnell Dog Beach, Kurnell – Off and on leash areas

🐕 Sharkies Beach, Coledale – Off-leash

🐕 Nine Mile Beach, Tuncurry – Off-leash and on-leash areas


South Australia:
