Second Chance Animal Rescue create a wish list for terminally ill rescue dog.
Craigieburn, VIC — Second Chance Animal Rescue (SCAR) is calling on the community to help make one very special dog’s final days unforgettable.
Eight-year-old English Staffy X Bowie arrived at SCAR four months ago after his previous owners could no longer care for him. From the moment he arrived, the team knew he was something special.
“Bowie is the sweetest, goofiest little soul,” said CEO, Marisa Debattista “He’s been through so much, but his gentle nature and zest for life shine through every single day.”
Being an older gentleman, Bowie needed some extra medical and behavioural support before he was ready to find his forever home. Thanks to the care of SCAR’s veterinary and behaviour teams, he’s transformed into a loving, playful companion who adores everyone he meets.
But recently, the team received heartbreaking news — Bowie has been diagnosed with a malignant cancerous tumour, and sadly, it’s not something that can be cured.
Rather than let this define his story, SCAR is determined to fill Bowie’s remaining days with joy, love, and adventure — and they’re inviting the community to be part of it through
“A Bucket List for Bowie.”
So far, Bowie’s Bucket List includes:
A café date complete with a puppuccino
A fun-filled day out at the beach
A special party to celebrate his 8th birthday
A visit to a local fire station for cuddles and pats from the crew
SCAR is inviting the public to share ideas for other adventures Bowie might love — and to help make them happen.
“Every animal deserves to feel loved and cherished, especially at the end of their life.
We want Bowie’s final chapter to be filled with kindness and community.” Says Marisa.,
The team is also searching for the most important item on Bowie’s list — a loving End of Life home where he can spend his remaining time surrounded by care and comfort.
