A new, deeply personal project is being offered to Melbourne pet owners, but only a select few will be part of it.
Forever, My Soul Pet is an exclusive coffee table legacy book created by Melbourne pet photographer and veterinary nurse Bree Colenso, designed to honour senior, terminally ill, and once-in-a-lifetime ‘soul pets.’
Limited to just 30 pets, the book will become a lasting legacy. Each one featured with portraits and the story of a life that meant everything to someone.
“This isn’t just a book of beautiful photos,” Bree says.“It’s about creating something you can hold onto. Something that says ‘they were here, they were loved, and they mattered.’
With over 10 years of experience as a veterinary nurse, Bree has supported families through some of the hardest moments of pet ownership. That experience now shapes the way she photographs, with patience, understanding, and a deep respect for what these pets mean to the people who love them.
“I’ve seen how much regret people carry when they feel like they didn’t capture enough,” she says.“Not just photos, but who their pet really was.”
Forever, My Soul Pet is designed to change that.
The project is open exclusively to pets in their senior years, those facing illness, or those considered a true “soul pet”. The ones who leave a lasting imprint long after they’re gone.
Each session is gentle, unhurried, and tailored to the pet’s needs. Many take place in the home, where pets feel most comfortable, especially those with limited mobility or nearing end of life.
The result is more than images.
It’s a legacy piece.A story preserved.A way to hold onto something that never feels like enough time.
With strong early interest, places in the book are already limited.
